PRESENT: Ric Gaudet, Coach Ben Alaimo, Kathy and Wayne Cookson, Steve Hawes, Karen LaClair, Sean Mazzella, Kevin Over, Jeff Vibes

Ø Ben indicated that he had arranged for the team to work out at Baseball City in Hartford. The cost is $275 for 40 sessions and will run from the first week of November until March 15, 2009. The program will provide instruction in mainly pitching and hitting with an evaluation at the beginning and end of the program. He did not include conditioning in the package as he plans on providing that at no cost at the high school gym.

Ø Kathy Cookson reported that there was $647.15 in our account from last year. She will provide a detailed report at the next meeting but preliminary figures were as follows:

¨ Banquet $1920

¨ Pitching Machine $1786

¨ Trophies $224

¨ Scholarship $500

¨ Sweatsuits $1750 (we recovered about $1400)

¨ Car Wash $1900 (income)

¨ Meet the Team $300

¨ Stamps $123

¨ Ads $1400 (income)

Ø Discussion about fund raising for this year was as follows:

¨ Rock Cats -- Sign up for a specified number of games for parents and students to work a concession stand at the game. The club would get a percentage of what was sold. A group last year worked 7 games and came out with $7,000.

¨ It was also suggested that we look into a similar type of arrangement with the Hartford Wolf Pack. Ric will look into that.

¨ Ben also mentioned a program called the RBI Program that could potentially be a source of a grant for the team.

Ø Current Plans For This Season--

¨ He is going to meet with the kids interested in playing baseball next week.

¨ Pitchers and catchers will begin practice on March 16, 2009

¨ Tryouts will be on March 23 and 24

¨ First game is April 8, 2009

¨ A game schedule was passed out.

Tentative dates were set for – Meet the Team Night at WHS – Wed., April 1 --6:15 p.m.

Pasta Dinner at WHS – Wed., April 15 (we cook)

Baseball Jamboree – April 4 –one day event

2 fields, 4 teams, charge admission, concession

Car Wash – May 2 or 9

Miscellaneous – We need to get an alumni list from Barry Chasen

Paul Norris has to be contacted about the dugouts – approx. cost is $40,000
